Perito Moreno: how to get there from El Calafate, park entry and tours

Quick answer: To see Perito Moreno you pay the Los Glaciares National Park entrance fee (General rate of ARS $50,000 per day since June 1, 2026, according to the National Parks) and choose a tour: walkways, boat, minitrekking or a long walk on the ice. The table below shows what each one costs.

Updated November 4, 2026.

Park entry (official data)

The National Parks publish the daily pass for Los Glaciares National Park: General ARS $50,000, National ARS $25,000, provincial residents ARS $8,000 and students ARS $15,000, in effect since June 1, 2026. There is a 50% discount on the second day of the visit, valid for 72 hours from the first entry. You are exempt if you are a retiree or pensioner with an Argentine DNI, aged 0 to 6, a local resident, have a disability with a valid CUD or take part in an educational visit, among other cases. You must show a DNI or passport to determine your category. Tickets are bought online on the official sales site.

Many tours do not include this entry fee: check the partner's page before you book.

Ways to visit the glacier

There are four ways to see it: (1) walkways, with a tour or on your own; (2) a boat in front of the ice wall; (3) minitrekking, with crampons on the glacier; and (4) long walks such as the Big Ice. The most expensive experience is not always the best one for you: the walkways and the boat require no physical preparation, while trekking on ice does.

How to get to Perito Moreno from El Calafate

How to choose

If it is your first visit and you have just one day, the walkways tour is the basic choice. If you want to see the ice wall from the water, add a boat. If you want to walk on the glacier, compare the minitrekking with its extended version and with the Big Ice. Sunset departures and combinations with ranches exist for those who prefer fewer people or a calmer pace.
